The Icelandic officers’ attempt to bring fun into their work has attracted over 138K followers to their Instragram page which shows these officers interacting with the locals, from reading stories to children to dressing up as Star Wars characters. Now I’m sure in reality it’s not all pretty and fun n games but I can appreciate the light-hearted humor in this attempt. Besides, I think it’s a neat idea overall! I would love to see HPD dress up for Halloween 😉

We forget from time to time people who have taken an oath to protect us are humans, just like us, made up of flaws and weaknesses. Putting on a uniform doesn’t miraculously change that.

Point to note: Iceland crime rate is incredibly low! I’m not sure if it’s low because the officers are just too cute to mess with or the officers are too cute to mess with because the crime rate is incredibly low! It maybe the chicken or the egg scenario here.

But…I’m still going to admire the police force’s spirited and cheerful attitude.

Wish we could see more of this here…
