I used to read a lot, I mean A LOT. I have been an avid reader since I was a kid. By the age of 14, I had read every Nancy Drew, Sweet Valley High and Agatha Christie series. By the time I was in College, I had covered every Stephen King on the block. Books are an escape, no doubt, for me!
I haven’t read as much as I would have liked to though the last couple of years, juggling between work, family, friends, hobbies and traveling. Hoping to switch it up, I borrowed The Shadow of the Wind from a coworker who HIGHLY recommended it. By the time I was done with the book, I had already ordered a personal copy of my own on Amazon. This book is by far the most brilliantly written book I have read in my life. It is beautiful & eloquent beyond words. And the shocking fact is it was originally published in Spanish. I am sold on Carlos Ruiz Zafon. He has gots to be one of the most skilled authors of his time!
If you are looking to grab a new read before the weekend starts, I strongly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed!
